Tasha’s Table? What’s That?

I’ve sat at many tables.

Some mundane. Some memorable. And over time, I’ve come to believe that there’s something sacred about setting a table—not just placing dishes and glassware, but setting the tone. Setting an intention. Setting the stage for something meaningful to unfold.

That’s the heart behind Tasha’s Table—a curated dining experience designed to nourish not just our bodies, but our creativity, our sisterhood, and yes—our souls.

As a catering professional and event planner, I’ve created many events. But Tasha’s Table is different. It’s deeply personal. It’s intimate by design. It’s where I pour in what I love most: intentional design, thoughtful conversation, storytelling, and the joy of watching Black women come alive in a space made just for us.

Honoring a Legacy

While it might not be evident to everyone, Tasha’s Table is a modern homage to the legacy of Black women’s social clubs and civic circles that quietly transformed communities throughout the 20th century. From the late 1800s and well into the 1940s, Black women gathered in living rooms, parlors, dining rooms, and church basements—not just to socialize but to organize, support one another, and lay the foundation for lasting change. These weren’t just book clubs or tea parties—they were incubators of resistance, leadership, and joy.

They created beauty in a world that often denied them visibility, and they did it with purpose and presence. They showed up dressed for the occasion, and they knew the power of gathering.

Tasha’s Table is my way of reclaiming and reviving that legacy.

La Vie en Bloom

Our upcoming brunch on Sunday, June 1, is themed La Vie en Bloom, French for “Life in Bloom.”

But this isn’t just a beautiful phrase; it’s a prompt. A question. A conversation starter.

What does it mean to live a life in bloom?

For some, it means slowing down. For others, it means finally taking up space—professionally, emotionally, or creatively. At this table, we invite our guests to explore their own definitions of blooming. We guide the conversation gently with icebreakers, shared stories, and curated conversation cards that meet people where they are, whether you’re the first to speak or the one who needs a little nudge.

Tasha’s Table is not about performance. It’s about presence.

What to Expect

At each Tasha’s Table experience, guests can expect a fully immersive moment, not just a meal. Every detail is designed to reflect the theme and tell a story.

You can look forward to:

  • A beautifully styled tablescape rooted in storytelling and design

  • A chef-prepared meal inspired by seasonal ingredients and cultural roots

  • Signature cocktails or wine pairings to complement the experience

  • Meaningful conversation starters are placed at each seat

This month’s design blends French toile, fresh florals, soft pastels, and delicate textures to create a garden-meets-parlor vibe that invites guests to slow down and think of a la vie en bloom.

Why Events Like This Matter

Black women do a lot. We lead movements. We raise families. We build businesses. We hold our communities together. We pivot constantly. But what we don’t always do is pause.

Tasha’s Table is the pause.

It’s the deep breath between what you’ve done and what you’re becoming. It’s a space that whispers: “You don’t have to be ‘on’ here. Just be.” It’s an offering that says your joy matters. That your presence is sacred. That you deserve beauty without reason.

When we gather intentionally and beautifully in the community, we do more than share a meal. We create memory. We create momentum. And we plant the seeds for future generations to see themselves not just in struggle but also in softness and celebration.

Who It’s For

You don’t need a curated Instagram feed or a brand deal to belong at this table. You don’t need to know the right people or wear the right outfit.

Tasha’s Table is for:

  • The woman who’s tired but still creating

  • The one who leads but needs a place to follow her heart

  • The one who’s looking to be poured into instead of constantly pouring out

It’s for Black women who want to feel seen and for those who didn’t realize how much they needed that until now.

If you’ve been waiting for someone to save you a seat, this is it.

What’s Next

My next brunch, La Vie en Bloom, takes place Sunday, June 1, and future tables are already in motion. Each one will offer something new, but the soul of the event remains the same: intention, beauty, and community.

🎟 Tickets are available now here.

We’re also curating a small guest panel for this event and would love to include your voice. If you have something to share about what it means to live a life in bloom, we’d love to hear from you. Let’s build something beautiful together.
